Fantastic all round

The Butt and Oyster is sittuated right next to the river, so there is absoloutly stunning views. The food is to die for, with a wide choice of foods to suit any pallet and the desserts are definatly worth leaving space for. There is a good range of lagers, beers and ale to choose from, and if you are an Adnams lover like my husband you will be spoilt for choice ! If you are going for a meal I would reccomend booking a table as it does get busy, especially on Friday nights and at the weekends. After a fantastic meal or a quiet drink you could then go for a nice walk and take in the breathtaking views. Well worth a try if you are in the area.

A Sunday Pint

09 Apr 08, 16:57 4* Above expectations

This pub / restaurant is situated right on the edge of the River Orwell at Pinmill, you can look out across the river towards Ipswich or down towards Felixstowe. The views are superb. Not only that, this pub is also geared up for the Nautical types behind the bar! Offering various bitters, and draughts behind the bar including a special favourite of mine - Adnams Broadside. The bar staff here are very friendly indeed. Also if your really into the country river scene, you could even sail to the pub! There's a huge amount of mooring on the River Orwell just outside the pub, and a long concrete slipway to bring the tender up when coming ashore on a low tide. Fantastic!
