This class is amazing as there are so many people of all age ranges and we do have a few men. Our teacher Monique is crazy but keeps the class lively and interesting. She choreographs well and keeps every one buzzing with her enthiusiasm. Its a great environment to keep fit and the staff work very hard and are very obliging. The atmosphere and the decor make it a great place to keep fit and have fun at the same time without feeling intimidated.

I believe that FitnessFirst is the best gym in the Beford area, actively encouraging those who have not exercised for a long time to get back into fitness activity, right through to those at a top level with daily committment.

The gym has a full rang of classes suitable for all levels, including beginners, along with personal trainers who get the best out of you without being pushy!!!

Since being a member of the gym, at 42 years old, I enjoy excerises that I have never even tried before e.g. spinning, body pump and even running classes. This has all been made possible because of the friendly and encouraging nature of those working there (especially personal trainer Julie Seymour).

I rate this gym as being "Fit for Everyone", and encourage people to try it out - I did!!!!

As a 'chubby' 40 something Mum & Housewife, I always shied away from public excercise. Soon after we moved to live in Bedfordshire I was made aware that a new Fitness First was due to open. Biting the bullet, I went along and joined up, and from the start, found the whole experience enlightening. Having expected to feel self concieous I actually felt welcome, motivated & valued. Staff were willing to help & offer advice even though I chose not to make use of a personal trainer. Instead of being written off I was invited to join in classes, encouraged & made to feel as if I belonged. On days when I just need to chill, the pool is wonderful & followed by a sauna I leave feeling recharged! Overall, far from being a 'posers paradise', this gym is a haven for real people who want to realise their own potential & enjoy the process.

Fitness first is a great place to work out. It has recently been refurbished and has the largest swimming pool of all the gym in the area. Staff are very friendly and go out of their way to help.

It's a gym... A gym is a gym I guess... Fitness First has excellent parking facilities first and foremost. The appearance is nice and clean, facilites are adequate and the staff are really quite helpful... The best part I think is the swimming pool, very lovely, clean and relaxing...

There are many good reasons for joining a gym, and there are many good gym's to join.

I found this particular facility had no atmosphere, and was unwelcoming. The staff had a don't really care attitude, and as a result of these things, I did not join....I noticed all the above on my first "look around" visit!!

Having since heard all the bad publicity about the way you can't cancel your membership or get any money back that you are owed...STEER WELL CLEAR is my advice!

i can't cancel

this gym looks great from the start of your relationship with them. however they tell you "sign up now and if you don't like it you can cancel with only paying for 3 months"

so i joined - used and became dissapointed with the service and the facilities.

i also got hounded by phone by the promotions team asking me to give them names and numbers of my friends who might like to join.

i now wish to cancel - and have been told i can't until i have paid for 12 months in full..

i will never have or recommend fitness first to anyone ever.

I once went for a 'trial day' here, and they wouldn't stop calling me to try and persuade me to take up an expensive memberships for months!

The gym itself is very nice and has all the facilities you need including a large pool, steam room, and well-equiped gym, but make sure you read all the small print before taking out a membership!
