Value At A Cost

As expected
Spoons pub, Good ;great value and real ale. Bad ; Fruit Machines + tv screens showing nothing interesting without sound. Ugly ; Daytime clientelle old miserable men, most with misguided ego's brought about by boredom & excessive alchol intake. Fab for the odd drop in (daytime) for cheap beer, but dont get involved with the aged fixtures.
A really good value pub

Above expectations
This pub is my local and it's great. As with all Wetherspoon pubs, the wine, beer and food is stupidly cheap, and the food quality is second to none. I would recommend Tuesdays - Steak night. The steaks are excellent and I wouldn't have a steak anywhere else now. Steak night is £5.49 and includes a drink - is a no brainer really. The staff are always friendly, however are run off their feet most of the time, therefore the tables can be a bit sticky sometimes! All in all, a great local and I'd be hard pushed to move away from it!
