Bears Break Wing Mirrors!

09 May 08, 11:08 5* Beyond expectations

This place is superb, well worth a visit, the car safari drive starts with Zebras and antelope, before you drived through the caged enclosure of wolves, bears and tigers.

The wolfs, actually look quite harmless, but don't really wanna find out, the bears were arguing when I went which was hilarious, then I drove past the sign 'Bears break wing mirrors!' superb, then you head into the lion pen, where the cubs come right up to the window, it was such a great day, you then head round, the park see the elephants, monkeys, tigers and giraffes which are all quite 'cute' as my other half says!

Then taking a walk on the Australian walkabout was so cool, seeing the kangaroos and koala's.

There's so much to see and do, you've gotta go.

I love it.

Love it!

I absolutely love this Zoo! I went again this weekend its a bit pricey so its not the kind of place you can visit all the time to catch up with your favourite animals but it is so nice when you do get to go!

I really love the fact you have to drive through it really reminds you that it is the animals park and you are the visitor, soooooo much better than seeing them behind bars.

When we went last time I got some amazing photos that I just love and you just couldn't get with out the drive through element, AMAZING!

Its great for those people who have the 'new cars' and are a bit scared of what excitable monkeys will do as you can skip past if you are not brave enough, however it is well worth it if you go in!

There is also loads to do outside of the car such as the Australia Walkabout and walk through the Lema's, so great getting so close.

Big thumbs up one of my favourite places ever!

Great day out

28 Apr 08, 18:58 4* Above expectations

I LOVE this place. I normally hate zoos because I don't like seeing them when they can't express completely natural behaviour... but Woburn is great as they have SO much space to run around and behave normally (apart from the rangers who sometimes have to chase after them in land rovers). People worry about the monkeys ruining their cars but it's fine, they're really not that interested. Then at the end they've got cafes and shops etc so lots of things to do and see. Great for children but don't go on a hot day unless you have air con as you have to keep the windows shut at all times...

Monkeying around!

22 Apr 08, 13:45 5* Beyond expectations

A great day out for kids of all ages. We started the day doing the vehicle safari which they say can take an hour. Initially I thought the tour would be a bit dull, as the first area has some of the less exciting animals, but far from it - in minutes we were right up close to a herd (?) of rhinos, then tigers, monkeys (the more adventurous ones like to ride on wing mirrors!), elephants, giraffes, bears - with my favourite being the lions - and one particular lioness who took a shine to the front bumper of my car (there are always loads of rangers in landrovers close by so you always feel safe)....loved it so much we went round twice!

I'd say that in terms of getting up close with some amazing animals this rates far better than some of the big zoos, and doesn't feel shabby like some of them can. Then we parked the car and checked out the rest of the park - there's absolutely tons to see, and it's brilliant for kids. My advice would be watch out for pickpockets - at one point I had two monkeys on my shoulder trying to get into my rucksack to steal food!! Overall, a really good day out and well worth the slightly pricey admission fee (£16 adults). Switch off your PC now, get the kids in the car and get to Woburn immediately.

See all the animals

21 Apr 08, 21:52 5* Beyond expectations

i love this place, its a really fun and exciting day out with loads to see and get involved with. Not only do you get up close seeing the animals in a really natural looking setting, but you get hands on with the less scarey animals like the monkeys, kangeroos and others little cuties. There penguine shoes, sealions and lots of creepy crawleys to shock the kids aswell. Theres a huge choice of food from cooked meals to snacks and a massive gift shop to remember yo day out, but be warned, the cost will soon add up as the food especially is quite expensive... my advice, take a picnic!

Great fun that the weather can't spoil!

16 Apr 08, 12:49 5* Beyond expectations

If you fancy a day out - but can't be bothered to walk anywhere - this is perfect!! Also because you're in your car - it can't get spoiled by the bad weather!

It'll take you an hour or so to drive round and there's loads of animals including tigers, lions, monkeys and bears.

Because the road has 2 lanes you can stop and look at the animals for as long as you like - which is good for me - who loves the hippo! It takes 2 hours for it to do anything :o)

If you're not planning to spend the whole day there it's a bit pricey. Last time I went it was about £15 per person.

Great place to take the kids!

14 Apr 08, 18:04 4* Above expectations

Woburn is a brilliant place to take the kids in the holidays, there's LOADS to see, and there's even stuff to see/do when it rains!

You literally drive right through the animal enclosures at times too so it's really great to be that close to wildlife and for the kids to see the animals too - they won't stop talking about it for days afterwards!

There are also some public pathways that go through the parkland which are free to access - bonus!
