As expected
This place has always done well because of it's location. I only ate there once and wasn't inspired. Sometimes in the summer there is a faint whiff of sewerage!

Overpriced food

Below expectations
Grove Lock is set in a picturesque location next to a canal, and unsuprisingly - a lock. The interior is lavishly decked out and in Summer the beer garden is packed. However, in the past I've found the food to be bland and overpriced. Apparently the menu has changed recently but there'll need to be siginifcant improvement to tempt be back again.

Great in the summer

Above expectations
This is a really nice pub, big and spacious and out in the countryside, with a great wooden terraced area by the water for when the sun's shining. Good food too.
