I first went to Mario's when I moved to leicester 8 years ago. I was so impressed that I have made it my local chippy, despite the fact that I have to drive to get there and theres another chippy within walking distance of me.

One portion of Fish and Chips is enough to feed two people, you get loads!!! And the best thing is, it tastes good too.

They also make really good currys and indian food.

So, good quality, tasty, cheap and cheerful fish and chips. Good Stuff.

Unbelievably Good Food

Paul and I have been frequenting Mario's since we started dating in 1979! Used to drop in here at 3am in the morning after a night on the town. Don't use it as much now as we live out of the city but whenever we get chance we often pop in and the food is fantastic. They even have a licensed seated area now just in case you fancy going a little more upmarket (instead of standing around outside in the pouring rain!). Good varied choice of menu and the kebabs are amazing!!!

Chips, pies, kebabs, curries, beer, pool - Mario's has it all!

What a fantastic place!

A plethora of foods and a bar all under one roof. Simply amble through the connecting doorway from the chippy and you're in a late opening bar - and vice versa!

A friend of mine swears he had the best curry of his life in here - and he eats curry about 3 times a week. The chips are always cooked to perfection and they do a good sized piece of cod for a reaonable price.

I've no idea what time Mario's closes but it's always been open when I've been heading home after a night out.

Braunstone Gate has become increasingly trendy over the last few years, the response from Mario's was to keep the food side of the business and convert the restaurant into a bar where you can sit and eat their food or just enjoy a pint and a game of pool.

It's very close to legendary Brauny Gate stalwart The Black Horse. You need look no further than those 2 establishments for a top quality night out in Leicester. Ale and chips - what more does a man need?!

My friend always drags me in here kicking and screaming.... hmmm more like the other way round. I know it looks a bit minging but I've been a few times now and I like it. It's very chilled and you can eat chips, drink coke and play pool. We saw a girl buying chips in her pyjamas the other day, now if that isn't chilled....

Marios is definitly the best place to go when you are starving after a night out

They do everything that you could fancy eating and the prices are quite reasonable to!!!

It is always packed in there it isclean and the food tastes great

Its a great place for that late night food!!!! really friendly people they always have a smile....they do great kebabs......they must be good there's always a queue...but worth the wait!!

There's no better place to drop in to after a hard night out on the town in Leicester.

Great chips and good banter with the guys who work there.

You can sit in or takeaway.
