Above expectations
This is a relatively new shop along St Giles Street, but one of a kind. It has all sorts of weird and wonderful foods, the sort you can make up as a basket and give as a present to your fellow foodie friends. Its not over priced either which is a surprise for this sort of shop. They do sandwiches too for lunch if your near by, which i can recommend.

Beyond expectations
Haslett, Venison & Ostrich Pate, Onion Marmalade, Snowdonia Black Bomber Cheese, Mead...
These are just some of the weirdo, beardo artisan foodstuffs this unassuming looking store invites you to cram down your gullet.
It's a nice little deli run by honest-to-goodness foodies, and while you'd expect to pay a little more for this kind of stuff, it isn't pocket-wrenchingly expensive.
Take their sarnies for example, £2 could see you noshing on a selection of their finest wares (Like Haslett & Tomato Chutney on bread baked freshly instore) as opposed to the £3.10 I was charged for a rather impotent looking chicken salad sandwhich from a newsagents the other week.
Top Grub, worth a look at lunchtime.
