Local Star

29 May 08, 17:56 4* Above expectations

This is a we love local star and deserves to do well. This is a small chain taking on the big boys, offering top notch food and drink at exceptional prices.

There aren’t many places that offer a fresh and varied menu at these prices - you’ll struggle to pay over £15-£20 a head including wine and service. I’m not sure how they manage to survive but it must down to filling the restaurant every night.

Local favourite

Dare I say this place is almost worth making a trip to awful Kilburn for. Its so cheap, especially before 7pm.. and the quality of the food is great. Its warm cosy and an absolute oasis on the horrific high road. Try the mussels and the duck pastry. The staff are local and friendly. Go here for a date or with a small group

Just like the name!

24 Sep 07, 15:03 4* Above expectations

I really do like this place and not just because it's a stones throw away from me. It really does fufill its name perfectly. I have been there a few times now, the staff are always helpfull, the food is unbelivably cheap and always plentiful and delicious. The menu changes often, apart from a few staples such as tiger island- a huge bowl of mussels, prawns and squid, and also puffy duck - a great staple dish of theirs. My partner once had some amazing frogs legs their and last time I went I really enjoted the crab in filo pastry to start. Their is also a resturaunt in Willesden called little star, run by the same people. you can get meals at both for as little as £5 for 2 courses. but I'd go for the specials and the al a carte each time as its still so cheap yet you get good size portions. I have yet to try the sunday roast there but it is worth pointing out that kids eat for free at sunday roast.
