Well below expectations
Deeply, deeply unimpressed. Went for lunch- The food wasn't very nice; greasy and overpriced plus they tack on an automatic service charge!
I felt as if the chef had walked out of the kitchen and slapped me in the face. RIGHT IN THE FACE!

A little bit of India in Camden

Above expectations
I've always enjoyed eating at Masala Zone, and my latest visit, to the mini-chain's new Camden Town branch, was no different.
The thing Masala Zone does well is variety. Its menu guides towards the dishes which deliver just that - a meat/veg and sauce dish, with rice and a selection of starter-type extras.
The tastes are more delicate and subtle than you would expect at your local 'Curry King', and more akin to the type of food I've eaten in Mumbai or top-end Indian restaurants in the UK.
Camden needed a place like Masala Zone. It leaves you in no doubt that it's part of a chain, but the service is good and prices reasonable (about £9-10 a head exc drink).
