I (heart) Proud

03 Sep 09, 12:59 5 Beyond expectations

After reading Richard's review, I feel that I should leave something on here...

I really like Proud, one of my favourite venues in London actually. I enjoy the music, I like the people and I like seeing all the different 'types' who head down there. The stables are a quirky addition, not "the fashion" by lazy owners. I think they make the venue unique.

Always a good night is to be had and the staff are friendly and you can always get a drink quickly - bonus!

enjoy proud! xx

I always have great nights out at Proud.... staff is helpful and the venue has a great atmosphere. Sorry Richard but there are all sorts of different people there... and there is nothing wrong with people who dress well. Setting trends is better than mearly following them or going to the Gap for striped button up shirts. The stables are beautiful and people have private parties in there without being fully sectioned off. Makes sense to me. .. and i've seen great bands there..... . . so i agree.. i'm not sure what you were doing there because it seems impossible to have a bad time at such a lovely venue.

Formerly a stable, currently full of 'manure'

19 Aug 09, 15:58 2 Below expectations

Proud Galleries in Camden has the potential to be amazing but somehow falls short in so many areas, I feel like I could take hold of the management by the shoulders and shake the sense into them. It embodies everything Camden SHOULDN'T be about - Overdressed prancing trendsetters, Ridiculously priced beverages, and caging everybody off in antisocial 'lounging areas' that are supposedly an exciting feature. What actually happened is they were too lazy to remove the stable fencing/doors and everybody just accepted it....such is fashion. Bouncers are particularly unfriendly and although the gig stage is nice and well received if they ever have a real band, the whole rest of the the night is one of "What the hell am I doing here??"

Just had a re-vamp

17 Apr 08, 09:14 5 Beyond expectations

This place has just had a re-ferb and it looks fantastic. It has tons of bars and you can sit and drink in the stables. Drinks are not cheap but about the same as the rest of the places around there. They seem to have a great line up of gigs for the next few months so I would check out their site to see whats coming up. I saw the RumpleStrips there and it was a great set. The venue has really made something of itself and apart from the ques to get in, its a great night out.
