Better inside

24 May 08, 18:21 3* As expected

From the outside you would think you were heading into a right dive, with drink soaked carpets and all sorts. But actually its not bad inside, well if you keep your nose in the wine list, which is nice and long, and decetnly priced.

Great place for the girls

19 May 08, 20:09 4* Above expectations

This place does nice food, altho pretty basic and a huge selection of wine, so much wine, which is great for a girlie night out. There is a relaxed atmosphere in here and the staff are pretty good at serving and pouring!

Only Fools and Horses style wine bar!

12 May 08, 19:59 4* Above expectations

I've walked past here so many times and am only now kicking myself for not going in sooner! I took a pew at the bar and made myself comfortable. There was so much choice of wine, i was quite surprised! The place was busy, even for midweek. The decor is hilarious - it's so dated but i wouldn't want it updating - it's perfect just as it is.

Wine Bar

30 Apr 08, 17:10 3* As expected

At Cork and Bottle Wine Bar there's table service at lunch but in the evening food is served from the central bar. The menu ranges from simple salads such as tomato, mozzarella and basil at £4.50 (and for tomatoes with flavour and mozzarella di buffala that's a real bargain) to grills including an open grilled sirloin sandwich.

Don't walk past...

09 Apr 08, 12:12 4* Above expectations

I'd looked at this place on numerous occasions from the outside and thought it looked dire! Persuaded otherwise by colleagues I ventured in and was really pleasantly surprised as my expectations were nil. Fantastic wine list, unpretentious astrosphere, nice staff and decent food. Would recommend it for a low key evening with friends.

dingy yet appealing

14 Feb 08, 18:33 3* As expected

tucked away under a sex shop off Leicester Square this is like a 70's throw back with wonderfully dated murals on the wall, checked red table cloths and wine bottles with candles in them.....
