Best view in London - students only

Above expectations
The View Cafe has now shut, but only one floor down, KCLSU (the students' union) has opened the new Waterfront Bar, at a cost of £750,000.
The Waterfront is stylish and classy, surprisingly so for a student bar. It has the best view of the River Thames in London, looking out over King's Reach. From the popular riverside windows, the stretch from Battersea Power Station all the way to Canary Wharf can be seen, making a great place to meet with your student friends.
The Waterfront is only open during term time, but starts early with beer being served from midday and fresh, Fairtrade, organic coffee from the morning right up until the close. Pastries and hot lunchtime food, including pizza slices are available, including sandwiches and paninis.
After 5, the lighting changes and the bar is transformed into a happening venue with a DJ on some nights and drinks offers linked to events in the club upstairs. It is slightly hampered by the combination of booths and tables - while providing privacy, mingling with random people is slightly more limited than a more open-plan layout. Food is still available, though limited to a few different types of pizza and platters of chips or nachos.
The Waterfront is not just for King's students, but any student with a valid ID card can use it, and King's students can sign in up to two guests so make friends fast! Beer is exceptionally well-priced and the pleasantly designed space holds up to 250 people easily - which is great as it can be booked at weekends and out of term time for private parties.
