Crowded but well run

For the most part, the trains run smoothly from this really busy station, which is popular for it's quick direct links to Waterloo and London Bridge. There are a few shops to mosey around, even a pub if you have the time for a drink, and lots of eateries like The Upper Crust if you want to grab something. There are ticket checking machines here before the platform areas. They often close one of the entrances when it's raining as the floor gets slippery, which causes congestion but you are always people dodging in here anyway so you just have to deal with the traffic and get on with it!

Inclement?
03 May 08, 00:37
Well below expectations
'Trains are delayed due to the inclement weather...
Platforms may be slippery due to the inclement weather...
The toilets really smell mad... is that due to the inclement weather?
The staff at this station are always incredibly rude... is this also due to the inclement weather?
Don't go to the Burger King here no matter how tempting it is, as you'll prob be ill the day after... not due to the inclement weather!
Oh what a station, what a mess, what an obsession with the word inclement!!
And why all the queues in the morning to get thru the barriers? how badly managed....
Oh well it's a train station.. what does one expect? a bit better than this please....

Where you catch the train

Charing Cross is a good station, it is clean, the services are good and it doesn’t smell. However the staff are really unhelpful rude and aggressive, the ticket office staff I have given up on after receiving incorrect information on several occasions. The gate staff are rude and unhelpful. In rush hour it is a bit of a free for all as too many people are passing through at the same time. It can take a while to get through the gates as they refuse to open more gates or let people through the bike gate. Annoying to say the least. But normally trains run on time and I find it is much better than other stations.

Trains and stuff

You know what...this station's not all bad. Of course it's run by twats but i've certainly had worse railway stations in my time. Trains come in. You get on them. Then they go. Great invention. In fact I want to thank George Stephenson for inventing the train. If I could review him, he'd get 5 stars. Do you ever wonder what it is that trainspotters are getting out of the whole thing? I do. Maybe we're missing out on the best experiences by not joining in. Food for thought.
