It's a Canadian pub - beaver, ice hockey and lots of pictures of Mounties. There's even Molsen and Labbatts available on tap/bottle bucket. (not a reason for coming)
Not a bad pub but not a great one either. The main reason for coming is the high chance of getting a table.

Like Canadian beer this is well below standard, a small pub lacking in atmosphere and good decor, a place worth avoiding, and as I've tried most of londons pubs over the years I should know!

Unless you are sitting on the bar i think you might be invisable in this place. Ive only been a few times and the last time we went across the road, as we'd waited ages to be served. Which is a shame coz the vibe is really good in here and has a cool area upstairs.

The best Canadian pub in London

The best Canadian pub in London...actually it's the only one i am aware of. It's not too themed, just a genuine pub for Canadians. Unfortunately this means it doesn't really stand out amongst other pubs in the area.

The Maple Leaf is the pub of choice when I meet up with my Canadian friends, but I have to say I'm not a fan. It takes FOREVER to get served. It has a good buzzy atmosphere and is fun if there is a big crowd of you. But there are better bars nearby.

I was at the maple leaf on a friday recently and I agree with the last reviewer. Its a good place if you fancy a change from the usual haunts in Covent garden, and unlike the Porterhouse you can actually get to the bar and back in under 5 minutes in the maple leaf! I wouldn't rush back, but i'd definitely consider it if i fancied somewhere quieter on a weekend for a drink.

Went there for the first time last Friday, and thought it was OK. Beers were reasonably priced, welcome change of having ice hockey on the plasmas, and a range of different types of seating areas. Toilets are pokey and need a little clean, but was very lively upstairs in the main bar area. Not my first choice at this end of Covent Garden, as I usually go to The Porterhouse, but does make for a nice change.
