Just for lunch...

What a great discovery I made, and only a few minutes from the office. This has got to be one of the best sandwich shops in the West End. Great selection of sandwiches, rolls, fillings, the salt beef is awesome.
It is very popular so avoid the queues by getting there before 1pm.

The best salt beef in town!

A great spot; the staff are really friendly and genuine (without coming across as false) and the salt beef on rye sarnie is the best sandwich I've ever tasted (and comes complete with gherkin accompaniment!)
It is quite pricey, so I don't make regular trips, but once in a while I get drawn back for more hot salt beef action!

Worth the queue

This isn't the cheapest place to get a sandwich in covent garden, but it's worth paying the extra as the food is so nice.
The staff address you by name and are always cheery.
The food is fresh and the cakes are to die for.
My only warning is that if you are having a jacket potato, make sure you're very hungry, they're huge!

This sarnie shop is fab.
The jacket potatoes are HUGE and the toppings are scrumptious too. If you can get a table inside then I'd definitely recommend it as a great place to meet for lunch.
The staff a fairly friendly - but you can tell their main aim is to keep the people who form the long queue, that extends out the door most lunchtimes, waiting for as little time as possible.
The place feels clean and prices aren't 'cheap' but pretty standard for a good, filling, London lunch.

As expected
I was hooked on Scotts the minute someone introduced me to it.
I went off it for a while - being a veggie i didn't like the fact that they didn't claen any of there work surfaces or knives between customers - so i would always have random bits in my sandwich - but i stay away from sarnies in there now and go for the baked potatoe with fresh ratatouille.
It really is delicious (if a little garlicy) but certainly fills a gap at lunchtime.
Friendly service - but i do find they charge me something different everytime i go in there!

This sandwich shop is the best place in london for a deep filled sandwich that doesn't cost you a months rent. £3.50 for a prawn salad sandwich.
The only problem with this place, is that everyone loves it. There is always a Q from 1pm onwards.
Worth the wait though!

As Joel S says in another review, getting a table at lunchtime can be really difficult, but don't let this put you off.
Let's not beat around the bush here.....the sandwiches are HUGE!!!! Generously filled and lovely 'doorstop' bread.
I'm not a big fan of saltbeef but have it on good authority that it really hits the spot.
Well worth a visit. Oh, randomnly they seem to call everyone that comes in John or Dave.

There is so much choice for lunch if you work around LSq or Covent Garden but as soon as I was introduced to this place I was hooked. Its now my local sandwich place and they know my name! They don't just do sarnies, you can have salad, jacket spuds or lasagne too. If you are feeling flash you can even sit in.. but get there early as the queue can get long. No more expensive than Pret but 100 times better and there is more choice

I was immediately drawn to this place because it looks quite cool from the outside. Service is quick and pleasant but it's pretty expensive, I regard going here for lunch as a treat!
There's a wide range of sandwich, salad and jacket potato options and usually a few hot options like lasagne also.
One of the best sandwiches shops in Covent Garden.

Scott's is a great lunchtime spot... with great sandwiches and always happy personal service. Sometimes can be a tad on the pricey side - but hey you are in central London so I guess it is what you should expect.
If you can get one of the popular tables at lunchtime it is also a good place to sit in for a quick lunch.

OK who can really get excited about a sandwich shop?! Although this place does the best Salt Beef around. It just falls apart and is very tasty.
Fast sometimes friendly service. The things offered are pretty much what you'd expect but the sandwiches are huge and always hit the spot.
Dodgy service

Sat down for a coffee at a table full of dirty plates and cups. Waitress servced the coffee but didn't bother clearing the table. Waited 10 minutes - finally asked her to clean the table and she bit my head off!
Seemed to really have no idea about good quality service / or service with a smile at all. Very poor.
My favourite sandwich shop

I go here most Saturdays for my lunch, and the hearty sandwiches are an excellent prelude to a hard day's shopping in the West End. The bacon and egg sandwich is also an excellent hangover cure if you need to recover from Friday night... The coffee is very strong too, which helps serve the same purpose. However, if your taste in coffee is less gravy-like in consistency than mine, you might be less impressed.
There is a wide range of sandwiches, jacket potatoes and salads on offer, all under £5 - very reasonable considering the handy location, right by Covent Garden. The baps and ciabattas are all you could want in a chunky sandwich, and even the salads leave you feeling satisfied. The service is very prompt and the food always comes with a smile.

There's a lot of sandwich shops around town. Some being really good, some being... not so good. Luckily, Scott's is one of the really good ones. It's a cliche to say that it's like the sandwiches your mother used to make, but it's quite true in this case. Rather than boring, flimsy butties, you get big, chunky, delicious sandwiches that fill you up properly. No surprise that it's always busy there. They don't just do sandwiches either. They do jacket potatoes and a range of salads, all of which look very nice too. The price is quite reasonable at £3-4 a sandwich considering how large and how tasty they are. The staff are always friendly, if not a bit quick to ask what you're eating if you sit in.
