Above expectations
Nice "pub" decor and atmosphere in the traditional sense, tucked away on a side street away from the hustle and bustle of Holborn
Friendly staff and a range of beers (eg Badger and Tanglefoot).
Unfortunately this place gets packed to the rafters between 5pm and about 8pm - usually with lawyers and other suited professionals.
Before and after these rush hours its like a boozy paradise with a nice victorian carpeted area at the back and booths and wood flooring at the front.
Watch out for the surreal piped music (or comedy or whatever) in the toilets.
