The food here is really nice, and cheap, and they give you free olives and bread. You never know what they will have, usually about five random dishes from the menu. However, the staff are really rude and stand offish. The second time we went the waiter pretended he couldn't speak English, even though we recognised him and he did the first time we went... this was very bewildering and made us feel very uncomfortable. As there are many Turkish places nearby where the staff are nice and not mad we won't be going back.
Long live Mike's!

By far the best Turkish place in town, open 24 hours it's a great substitute for the usual kebab and chips after a night out, with less of the guilt. Great dishes, i can recommend the chicken soup and lots of pickles and olives to keep you going. The dips are the main attraction for me and friends which are accompanied by a bottomless barrel of bread to dip with. The staff are really sweet and welcoming and lovely to chat to. Look out for the large picture of the toddler on the wall, it's the owners son who came to visit from Turkey apparently! A must for anyone who likes good honest food at reasonable prices. A winner!

Fantastic! I adore this place...which is probably why I am there at least once a week and am now dragging all my mates and family members there...and not a disappointed one yet! the food is delicious, the atmosphere is great and always changing. A great place to chat, gossip or just read a book and watch the fabulously entertaining dalston peeps go about their business. I must also commend the staff on being lovely and attentive (and for knowing my order by heart). Brilliant, keep it up boys.
Fantastic!

This place never closes which is probably why me and my flatmates come here so often. At 6 am when you are about to eat some dirty food on the way home this place is a haven. They sit you in a warm corner and feed you the yummiest dishes at really good prices. All 4 of us normally have dip, bread and a main dish for about £14.
If you do go there it is the olives and pickles that have to be tried, there is something about them that prevents a hang over after about 5 G&Ts.
But this isn't just a place for the drunks, I would genuinley take my Mum here, and she would love it, as I do. I'm so glad that Sorrel loves it too. I feel an afinity!

This is my favourite Turkish food place in Dalston (and there are many). It is to the Turkish restaurant, what the workman's caff is to a British one - hearty food for healthy appetites, at reasonable prices. Don't bother with the long menu in the window, you'll wait ages and it will be disappointing, if you want restaurant food there are plenty of other places to go. Order at the counter from the trays steaming in the window. This is always a choice of tasty meat stews/casseroles plus a vegetarian option. The friendly staff will talk you through what's on offer as the short menu on the wall is in Turkish. Your meal will come with a basket of bread and a dish of olives, pickles and rocket. If you're extra hungry they also have soups and salads, and some very sweet desserts that all are very good. If you're there at the right time of day you can watch the making of (and then scoff) stuffed flatbreads. The turkish tea is good, the breakfasts are good. They are open all day from early in the morning, til late at night. They do takeout. They are perfect. I love them.
