Really nice

This is a great pub to stop off at if you've just tired yourself out shopping on church street.
It's really big and welcoming with a nice open fire and friendly bar staff.
They do a good pub quiz too.
It's also got a bed and breakfast and my mum and dad really liked it last time they came to visit.

Great Interior!

As expected
Now this place really does look like a proper pub. It's best sampled in the winter when the weather is grim outside and you're in here in front of the fire!
The beer's aren't too bad, the staff could probably be a bit friendlier but there are worse places to drink around here.
If you're into your trivia check out the film, music and general knowledge quizzes every week, you'll certainly be challenged!

Is it possible to be too cosy?

Roaring open fires on a mild early October evening? Is that strictly necessary? It was indeed boiling hot, but still rather nice, and come some seasonally cold weather that will be grand. There's proper wooden chairs, some hewn from beer barrels and a good selection of ales. It's an Old Truman Brewery pub and feels like a proper cosy old pub.
