NO MANS PUB

09 Jun 08, 18:31 1* Well below expectations

just moved into area and went in with my wife for a quick drink. Met the locals and feared for our life. Violence eveyrwhere. Rude people. Will never go in again

I miss the Wilton!

I used to be 1 of the Australian Employees at the Wilton.

We always had a good time at work! The people are rough diamonds, with good hearts.

At times it can be a little hairy, but everything seems to sort itself out.

Go there, check it out, have a sing, laugh and take it at face value.

an experience

This pub has recently had a little make over in which i must say they did a great job! Its a typical old mans pub with nice jazz nights on a wednesday and strange but great for your own entertainment purpose.."karaoke night!" This happens every weekend on a friday saturaday and sunday where lots of the young and old come together, get very drunk and have a good laugh! Its not one of the classiest places but its an experience..

The Peter Shilton

As London expands and becomes more 21st Century It can be harder and harder to find a traditional London boozer!

Well look no further than The Wilton Arms on Dawes Road, Fulham. This is certainly no wine bar and is a typical working mans pub. During the day it is frequented mostly by the pensioners and unemployed as a refuge to rest in between their trips to the bookmakers - but there are certainly a few characters to be found then! come the evening it starts to pick up and the night can come alive with Pool competions and Darts Leagues etc. The weekend is packed as everyone puts on their gladrags and heads out for a weekend full of karaoke headed by the governor doing his usual George Michael impression (which, to be fair, are actually rather good!)

The drinks are typically London prices but are all premium brands, no food is served in this pub but you can get a bag of crips or pork scratchings. Plus if you're peckish a person will come through with some steaks or salmon sooner or later...

If you want to mix with good honest working people (and a few dishonest ones!), ex-gangsters, current gangsters and cheeky cockneys then this is the pub for you. come with an open mind and a polite nature and you'll have a ball...
