Excellent back-street boozer

22 Sep 07, 13:10 5* Beyond expectations

No matter what kind of drinking you want to do, you can do it at the Fulback - quiet pint in the front bar, a date in either side room, a rowdy get-together in the back room, open-air pint in the beer garden. This is recently built, makes great use of a small space and almost doubles the size of the pub! Friends swear by the quality of the Guinness here. The landlord seems to have a harem of cute indie girls for barmaids. Fantastic Thai food, too.

The only downsides are the bigscreen TVs that are constantly showing football and the proximity to Arsenal means it's full of idiots on match days. Oh, and it's often rammed, something this review isn't really going to remedy ;)

Full (back) of character!

13 Jul 07, 10:06 5* Beyond expectations

The fullback is a great little oddity, meant in the best possible way! From the ivy clad exterior to the hanging bicycles and various nik naks the adorn the the ceiling, you have a sense that this is going to be a slightly different drinking experience. Wander through the pub to the back area and there is plenty of picnic bench seating with a pool table and quiz machines for your entertainment, as well as a large screen for any rugby or football games that may be on. There is a small kitchen which serves relatively inexpensive Thai food and some pub grub for when you get peckish. With the added bonus of a smallish, but perfectly formed outdoor seating area, this pub really does seem to have it all, and whats more, the place has a bit of soul about it, which is sadly lacking from a lot of pubs these days, give it a try and you will definitely be back!

Best Pub in North London

10 May 07, 23:25 5* Beyond expectations

This is one of those pubs only people in the 'know' are aware of because its nestled away in the back streets of finsbury park. But It's well worth going too. Everything about this pub is beautiful to look at. Outside the pub is covered in Ivy leaves and flowers, inside the bar there are childhood items hanging off the roof. Theres a good atmosphere as well plus they have a small kitchen sevring thai food and they have a screens for all the big sports games. It is an Arsenal pub but they will show the spurs games as well. If you like pubs with lots of character, this is the place for you.

THE rugby pub

08 May 07, 20:16 5* Beyond expectations

Everything about the Faltering Fullback is brilliant. Whether you want a quiet pint or a session, you know you can have a good time at this location. Situated on a quiet street just five minutes from Finsbury Park Tube Station, the Fullback is the perfect place to pop to for a laugh. With quality beer, an excellent quiz machine, a pool table, live football, and the finest beer Garden that I've been to in a long time, it has it all. I should have known when I entered for the first time and noticed the framed Harlequins top on the wall that it would be a great place, but it took me a good two visits before I was hooked for life. I'm now there frequently, and I never fail to fall in love with the place. It couldn't be better.
