Spacious, laid-back pub

There's lots of space (seating and standing) in this pub, with slouchy sofas for relaxing with a pint. You can get a massive group round the huge bench tables. The food is a bit hit and miss, tho - the menu can be a bit limited and doesn't change often, so you can't always find something you'd like to eat there. Bar snacks are good.
As with almost all pubs round Finsbury Park, though, it likes showing football on big-screen TVs.

Laid back pub

The Larrik offers great service and a relaxed atmosphere and is great for a midweek drink or two. It is a big place, with plenty of space to wonder around when its not packed for a big football game! The bar is full of friendly staff who are efficient while serving, and always offer a smile. The prices are good, expect to pay around £6 for two pints of good lager and the same for two good ales, and the spirits are very reasonable too. They offer lots of board games to play, which is great when there are a few of you around. The kitchen offers some good pub grub, but does have a limited menu when there are games on the big screeens (of which there are two). For a nice relaxed drink with friends and good game of trivial pursuit, you could do worse than to come here for a night!

The Larrick has the same qualities as the Old Diary across the road from it. Clean, lots of space, a good kitchen and a nice atmosphere. The bonus with this pub is that it has a good selection of board games, so you and your mates can have a few pints playing trival pursuit or dominoes. It also has a big screen for the big sports games as well and a few sofas around an old fireplace. If you are looking for a pub thats got atmosphere but not too loud, and you like your board games, go to the Larrick.

Friendly staff and some good games - A fun pub

There are few pubs in my experience which are quite as cheerful and laid back as the Larrik. I've been here a couple of times now, on every occasion I've ended up playing Trivial Pursuits. The Larrik has board games for all types, as well as quiz machines, live football, decent ales, and best of all, it has the greatest barmaid I've ever met. Walking in for only my second ever visit, she actually remembered the drinks for all four of my party, and when one guy decided he wanted a Smirnoff Ice, we jokingly worked together to put it in a cocktail glass with a straw. Staff with a sense of humour are a rarity, and they should be treasured.
