Wagamama is very convenient for combination with a cinema trip. Love their carrot juice! Dislike the service! Food just OK. Will go again.....I think...

Good for before a movie or gig

13 May 08, 17:50 3* As expected

This Wagamama is very convenient for combination with a cinema trip or a gig at the Carling Academy. The service is standard to the brand - efficient and no nonsense. My meal (yaki soba) came pretty quickly. I like the window benches for a people-watching view whilst you dine. For a drink with a difference, you should try the elderlfower sparkling water - it's really good!

Very Quick Bite

30 Aug 07, 15:29 4* Above expectations

I was starving and hungry, with less than 30 minutes before my movie started. I didn't feel like a greasey kebab or burger and after waiting 5 minutes in Yo Sushi next door without even an acknowledgement from the service staff, I was beginning to think I may end up having popcorn for dinner.

We decided to give Wagamamas a shot, given we already knew what to order before walking in the door (I don't think they have changed their menu since I first went 2 years ago!)

When the waitress came to ask what drinks we wanted, we asked to order our food. Within 5 minutes my boyfriend's meal was on the table and mine followed not much longer after that. We had about 15 minutes total to wolf it down and get the bill to make the start of our movie. Lucky we were both starving!

The food was nothing special but it was of a decent standard for the price. I was impressed with the speed of delivery and service compared to other times I have eaten at Wagamamas.

Wagamamma, Angel

16 May 07, 10:55 3* As expected

This is an ok place to eat. The service is quick and they operate a share table policy as in other restaurants. The dumplings and curries are nice but avoid the mixed fish as it tends to be a bit processed. Situated next to the multiplex cinema there are often large queue's before and after film times so avoid those if you do not want to wait.

Trusted Local

Japanese Noodle Bar

15 May 07, 16:00 3* As expected

A very busy wagamama chain so get here early (before 7) on a weekday and even earlier on a weekend. The food is good and fairly quick, I didnt have to wait to long to get served my food. The service is good as well, i dont think there is a service charge on the bill so tip a little to be on the safe side. Its a good restaurant with a good atmosphere but when it is really busy there is a feeling you will be chucked out as soon as you have finished eating.

Awful service

10 May 07, 11:08 2* Below expectations

I am a fan of Wagamama's food - they do very nice Japanese noodles - and the Islington branch is my local branch, which I tend to go quite a lot. So why am I giving it two stars? The service there is, on a very good day, of an average standard, on a normal day, mediocre, and on a bad day, absolutely abysmal. You can wait ages to be served. Ages to get a bill. Wrong meals. Wrong drinks. Overcrowding. Forgotten orders. Lukewarm meals. It's as if the staff are playing some kind of Beadle's About stunt, but the sad thing is that they're not. And yet, I still go, and each time I come out slightly more disappointed. They would have received a single star normally, but the food pumps them up one.
