Brillant summer boozer, lovely food and tucked away in the heart of Islington away from the hussle and bustle on Angel.
Lovely for a drink and excellent food to!
Staff friendly - the place has a feel that very pub should aspire to.

As expected
What Catherine's said is all true, apart from the smoking, which ain't allowed any more despite the landlord's bar sign saying "Non-Smokers will be served". It's better at night, as it feels a bit cluttered during the day.
There's a quiz on Tuesdays at the moment which is at a really nice level - a wide range of popular and specialist knowledge. Very good fun.

My current favourite local pub. Not too big but lots of seats. Can be smoky and the larger not great but the Guinness is good and overall I really like this place. It's relaxed and the staff are friendy, chilled and helpful. I haven't been when it's overly bust and I like that for a quite drink sometimes. I love the old vinyl juke box whixh had great music on it. The bar staff will play records of the money runs out on it. Classic films from all eras are projected onto a big screen to add to atmosphere. I love it.
