Beyond expectations
Exmouth Market is only one street long, but it packs an awful lot into its boundaries. It is similar in style to Lamb's Conduit Street or the newly re-developed Whitecross St Markets: there's a touch of the old-school market to it, but there is also modernisation of shops and goods to suit a younger palate.
It overflows with eating and drinking opportunities of all sorts - there are daily food stalls, justly busy at lunch time; a proper pie and mash shop; cafes and sandwich shops; the fantastic Spanish restaurant Moro and a great Spanish grocer; casual restaurants with outdoor seating and big Italian pizza places. Drinks can range from a laid-back pint to the best Brazilian cocktails in London (and table football to boot) at Cafe Kick. Rounding out the picture are some small clothing boutiques, a record shop, a jeweler, a bookshop, a furniture store, a florist, and a good old anything-you-need-for-the-home-we-got-it-mate shop. With the lovely Spa Fields park behind it, Exmouth Market is a great place to grab an al fresco lunch or do a bit of window shopping before sitting down and enjoying some food and drink.
