It's a Wetherspoons. You know how it goes - cheap beer close to its sell by date, good value food that appears within 20 minutes of paying for it and generally pretty souless in the middle of the day. I'm giving this one 3 stars though because it's so much better than the Angel and Glassworks which are both down the road and are both pretty rubbish. Also close to Hi&I station.

Below Average Weatherspoons

The best thing about this weatherspoons is that it serves the cheapest drinks on Upper Street. Apart from that its a bit soulless inside. Lots of seats and seems to be busy but it just has nothing about it. If it wasn't a weatherspoons I'd probably give it 3 stars but it is so I'm not going too.

Generic, but worth it

23 Jul 07, 15:14 3* As expected

Exactly as you'd expect for a Wetherspoon place. Crowded but with plenty of room to fit more people in, we found a table in the back corner that was relatively quieter that the center.

The food came promptly, we ate, then we left. Just as every other Wetherspoons, the offers and selection of food and drink were well-rounded and well-priced, but the place itself was generic and boring.

Good for students and anyone looking for a nicely situated pub, but uninteresting.

It's a Weatherspoons...

23 Jul 07, 15:14 3* As expected

... says it all really.

Prices are good, atmosphere is OK when the place is packed and the food is the same as every other weatherspoons.

It's in a excellent location which helps its popularity quite a bit.

The exterior of the building is very unappealing however and in the interior is a bit large and cold.

Perfectly good and exactly what you expect.

Highbury's Weatherspoons

04 May 07, 20:50 2* Below expectations

Another weatherspoons pub, about 30 seconds walk away from the Highbury and Islington tube. Busy on a friday and saturday which is the only time when it has any atmosphere. As with all weatherspoons its cheap and clean compared to a lot of other pubs but on weekdays its quiet and soulless. Its not a bad pub, it just doesnt have any character about it or anything different about it. If you do go, go for an early pint on a friday or saturday evening.
