Masala Zone

This restaurant offers tasty food and it's not expensive. Service is good, the waiters are so nice and polite, always helpful. The restaurant has a private room for functions and an outdoor seating area. maybe the only bad thing that I can say is that this restaurant is a little bit formal and cold.

not impressed

07 Jan 08, 19:51 2* Below expectations

I'm not a fan of chain restaurants, but thought I'd give it a go. I won't be back. It seems to be Indian cuisine in name alone. Unlike other curry houses, which I'm sure it's trying hard not to be, the menu is small and uninspiring. It seems to rely on Thali main dishes which can be fine, but ours were really small and bland. The service was fine, but I had a hollow feeling leaving the place, and not just my stomach. Chains on Upper St. Approach with caution.

Lovely restaurant

One thing i love about this resturant is that they serve noodles with curries. This gives the menu a indo-chinese theme to their food. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very modern and relaxing. I'd recommend people who are planning to go here, to try out the thali's because you get a variety of different curies and other foods as your meal.

Intersting Indian

13 Jun 07, 15:16 3* As expected

I really like Masala Zone. The food is tasty and the service is very friendly, if a little slow when it gets really busy. The food is a bit more exciting than the average Indian restaurant with the option of spicy noodles bowls and thalis along with the traditional curries. A great option if you just can't decide what sort if food you fancy. Add to that a good drinks menu including tasty smoothies and it's a winner.

High speed curry

There was a point when I ate here about once a week. The service is superfast. My pet hate is waiting for the bill and I can honestly say I never experienced a wait for anything here. The staff are slick and brilliant. The food is served on a stainless steel tray, and is delicious and authentic. And did I mention fast?

Fast Food Curry

13 May 07, 23:36 2* Below expectations

With many restaurants around London I had expected Masala Zone to have been a pleasant meal, if not spectacular... It definitely wasn't spectacular!! While the service was OK, the atmosphere in the restaurant felt like that of a fast food chain. The menu was very limited for a curry house and the dishes they did serve were very bland in taste and small in portion. On top of the sub standard we appeared to be rushed in and out as fast as possible.

Masala Zone

One of a chain of modern Indian fusion restaurants. Has a nice menu and nice atmosphere. There is also a small amount of outside sitting which is great in summer but can be awkward as they operate a Share table policy. Recommend a large thali to share to keep costs down and a Masala coke.

Average curry restaurant

11 May 07, 21:17 2* Below expectations

Masala Zone offers all the usual options on an Indian restaurant menu, and that's about it. The food is distinctly average, and the atmosphere is uninteresting. The food is cheap, which the restaurant uses as it's main selling point. I'd rather spend a couple of quid more a get much better quality food from one of Angel's other Indian restaurants.

Trusted Local

Really Nice Indian Restaurant

06 May 07, 16:49 4* Above expectations

A 5 minute walk away from Angel tube, this is one of only a few Indian restaurants in the area. I liked it a lot, the place was nice inside, the food was great and the service was good as well. I went for a friends birthday so when we asked them to come out with the cake, half the kitchen turned up to sing to her which was great! When we left they gave us a 10% discount for the next visit which I will be doing very soon!
