My matchday pub

As expected
The move to the Emirates has not changed the fact that The Famous Cock is my pub of choice for matchday. Plenty of Gooners gather here, probably as it's right by the exit of Highbury & Islington tube. Don't have to wait long to be served and Sky Sports is always on whether it's a live game of Geoff Stelling and the boys on Saturday. Everything you'd want as a footie fan.

The Famous Cock Tavern

Well below expectations
This pub always shows the big football matches. If this is your main criteria and you can brave the rough beer and atmosphere check it out. It has the typical dingy feel of a pub by a station , it's right next to Highbury and Islington. For big matches children and anyone who can't or doesn't want to buy beer stands and watches one of the several big screens through the large front window. I've been here once and probably wont be back, I like to watch football with decent beer and less highly offensive chanting from football louts.
Small Indie/Rock Bar

Above expectations
One of the best venues to see bands in North London. Right outside Highbury and Islington tube and usually quite cheap to get in if you get there reasonably early. Several bands on the up play here, sometimes with very little notice given. There are several band nights mostly in the rock/indie/punk genre and friday and staurday they have a club night. It is a small venue which adds to the character and you shouldnt have to wait ages to get served at the bar. I really like it here and I think if you prefer smaller club nights, you will as well.

Situated just outside Highbury & Islington tube beneath The Famous Cock pub. Live music and dance venue. Good place to see up and coming bands. Usually plays decent music to dance too a mix of modern and classic Indie and punk music. Doesnt get too busy. Occasionally though the music is a little dubious and the crowd slightly odd.
