The Living Room

The staff were extremely welcoming and before long, we were comfortably settled at our table with a couple of glasses of wine in front of us. The décor is pared down wood - blocky wooden tables and chairs on polished wood flooring against wood panelled walls. the atmosphere is nice and we enjoyed our dinner.

The Living Room is a welcome addition to the Angel experience. Nice interior and friendly crowd ensure that there is a good night to be had.

No DJ in here, instead relying on an accomplished pianist to keep things sassy. If you happen to be wearing a Ghostbusters T-shirt (as I did once) they will play the theme tune on the grand piano to accompany your walk to the toiliets! Speaking of which, the toilets are in fantastic condition, clean, tidy and a pleasure to use. Upstairs there are lots of booths are sofas available, but like most places in Angel, you have to get there early to grab these.

The only problems with this bar is the pointless Fashion TV on constant loop (why not save the energy and turn them off) and the poor attempt at 'air-conditioning'. Thanks to the broken ceiling fan the last time I was there everyone was streaming out in a sea of sweat. And this was in March!

That aside it is a bar that offers something slightly different in Angel. They just need to make sure that next time they keep the door open if they haven't fixed the air-con!
