Above expectations
My favorite in the area I know of, it's one of those old pubs that's had a simple re-fit so draw in the young urbanites - so kitsch lamps, lots of scuffed wood, haloumi on the menu... but fortunately the atmosphere is usually fun rather than pretentious. It's also got a garden at the front but naturally this is usually heaving in the summer. Prices are pretty standard: it's no Wetherspoons but they don't overcharge considering the lack of choice in the area. Also quite big and they'll reserve tables/areas too.
