The Peckham multiplex is cheaper, but if you want a good filmy night out, this place is the where to come. Great victorian building, renovated a few years back, with a bar! Yes, a proper bar. you can't take you drinks into the film, apparently, but then that's what handbags and decent pockets were built for. "Are you drinking Budvar in the back row?" "Hic, honestly drinkstable, I've only had a few cu**s..."
A good night out guaranteed

Can't ensure the quality of the film, but the environs are great. Properly un-chainy, the Ritzy shows a massive selection of films, has a bar, proper snacks, special kids clubs, and best of all, it's a lovely old building. It reminds you of what it used to like to go to the flicks as a kid!

If you?re going to swap the comfort of your sitting room for the spectacle of the big screen, the last thing you want is a generic, slightly sticky, overpriced cinema, packed with children who?ve eaten too much pick?n?mix. The Ritzy is how cinema should be. Or maybe how it used to be. From the busy bar and great café to the organic popcorn in retro cartons, you are guaranteed a good evening, even if faced with a chickflick/action adventure [delete as appropriate] that you don?t quite remember agreeing to watch. The films range from art house to blockbusters, with special kids?, elderly and Autism-friendly screenings. For the best Ritzy experience, catch the movie in the main auditorium ? a beautiful, old-fashioned pavilion hall, complete with red velvet curtains and seats, a vaulted ceiling and period plasterwork. There?s even an interval between ad breaks and the feature presentation for last-minute popcorn runs. And not a pick?n?mix in sight.
