London's best venue

This is without a doubt London's best venue. An old cinema with a steep slope means you're always get a great view of the band. The acoustics are also pretty good.

I've been to pretty much most of London's venues and Brixton is head and shoulders above all of them.

Transport links are great and there are a fair few bars and restaurants in the local area to meet before hand.

You can keep your O2 I'll keep on seeing my favourite bands when they play at Brixton. Big bands still play here but you need to be quick to get the tickets.

I'd lived in London for a few years before my first gig at Brixton. It was always topping the polls as best music venue and I could never imagine why? (living in West London it was a pain to get to and well... Brixton didn't have the best reputation...). But, BUT - from the moment I walked in I knew it was going to be special!!

As you walk in you can't help but be impressed by the two arching staircases leading up to the first floor. 'Faded glamour' is certainly the term that comes to mind of this amazing 20's theatre. And best of all... Brixton Academy has the most amazing sloping floor leading down to the stage (as someone who's 5' 1" this is definitely a bonus!).

The sound is excellent and I can honestly say I've never seen a bad gig at this venue. If you haven't been here buy a ticket, any ticket, to the next band playing. You won't be disappointed!

Brixton is a great venue for gigs, it's easy to get too, easy to find and there are loads of good bars in the area if you want to meet friends first.

I especially like it because it's got a curved floor so if you aren't very tall and don't like being squashed up at the front you'll really like Brixton.

The bars in the venue are spread out and you never have horrendous queues.

If you want to listen great music go to the Brixton Academy because here you can attend to high grade concerts. This is an ex theatre and the floor is a little bit sloped to let to see the concerts comfortably. There are different bars, that is good, because if there are many people you can make less queue.

I have seen some great acts here the Brixton academy is in my opinion the best venue in London. Great bands and you can just smell the herbs as you walk in... Some great bands play here, and when the best ones do it sells out quickly so you need to be sharp to get tickets.

Live music venue

Brixton Academy is an amazing venue for live music. Huge names in music, particularly dance music, play here. The atmosphere is always electric. Check out the listings and buy tickets in advance.
