Lasting impression

This looks like a really good restaurant, great position just outside Clapham tube, great looking restaurant, great service, good menu. Only one problem, too many onions. Nothing wrong with onions, but you don't want to taste onions for hours after you've left. It's a shame, but it's my lasting memory of this place, maybe it was just a bad day, but I never went back

Clapham Tandoori

The Clapham Tandoori is a great restaurant located just outside of Clapham Common tube. From the outside it looks fairly understated and you wouldnt necessarily stop there - but it is well worth a visit.

The menu is great and vast making hard to choose. Portions are healthy and the prices reasonable for the area.

The waiters are all very friendly and the service good. It was quiet when I went and we didnt need a reservation - but then it was a wednesday. If you were going at the weekend - it might be worth calling in advance.

Genius Masaala with a side order of Sag Aloo

Fantastic place. Very stylishly kitted out, this is not your average bad decor and greasy poppadom pad. The food is delicious but above average in price as a result. It's been in Clapham since 200 a.d but has recently refurbished and IMHO rivals the Bombay Bicylce for quality and service. Then staff are incredibly friendly and service is invariably excellent.

It had a very fresh feel to it, was redecorated some time ago and is definately the best one alonng the High Street Strip. Portions are large and there's a very varied menu. Great place to eat in if you fancy a leisurely curry in a nice environnment or just a bite to eat before a film.

Only criticism would be that the delivery food was quite greasy (Although it was only one dish out of 4, the rest being delicious). It was delivered on time and with more complimentary dishes and dips than elsewhere is swanky takeaway bags.

However, this shouldn't detract from what is really an excellent Indian restaurant.
