September sees HEARD launch an 8 week showcase competition for young design graduates. The competition provides a great opportunity for new graduates to show the skills they have developed during their degree and for HEARD to champion their work in a commercial environment.
Graduates will be selected every 2 weeks to organise their own 2 week showcase at Heard Gallery, London. Finalists will be chosen from each showcase and the winner, who will receive the Award of Excellence in Design, will be announced at an Awards event on Thursday 28th October 2008.
A panel of experienced and influential judges will be made from representatives from the press, design education, design industry leaders and seasoned design buyers.
Design graduates have the excitement of their end of year shows in July, then time to relax over the summer before hitting a September of truly surviving life as a young designer. HEARD’s decision to host a graduate competition in September aims to provide new avenues and opportunities for this years talent to get their work out there and be seen by the right people. Interested graduates can find out more at www.heardgallery.co.uk.
Heard Gallery is a new gallery launched by creative agency, HEARD. It is dedicated to designs of all forms by emerging and established contemporary talent. The aim of the gallery is to champion and support exceptional design talent in an intimate and commercial environment. The accessibility of the gallery and the works exhibited will appeal to a wide audience - designers and artists, press, design students, local residents and the general public.
Tim Heard (MD) comments, ‘Ever increasing awareness for design and for good design talent is of the utmost importance today for everyone, not just design professionals. People have a greater understanding of design and we are thrilled to showcase the best design around.’
