Not too much atmosphere

The Crown and Sceptre is merely an average Weatherspoons, apart from the fact that it has a far better range of beer than most, including some of my favourites – Abbott Ale and Spitfire seem to be the most permanent of a constantly rotating selection. And, let's face it, for under £2 a pint, who's complaining? – especially since, unlike a Samuel Smith's pub, you get a choice.
The food is precisely as you'd expect; cheap and served with no great finesse.
Many people complain that Weatherspoon's pubs don't have much atmophere: although the Crown and Sceptre does try, when a pub is on the border between Brixton and Streatham, you really don't want too much atmosphere...!
Exactly as you would expect

Boring as it may sound, The Crown and Sceptre is your 100% average Wetherspoon's. They have a good range of ales on tap normally, but beyond that there's nothing special here.
The food is okay, but exactly replicated in every other 'spoons across the land. They do have a beer garden, which is handy as they are remarkably few and far between in this part of London, but it is also directly on the very busy road.
