Family owned and independent French Patisserie, Cafe and Boulangerie established in Wanstead for 20 years specialising in celebration cakes for birthdays, weddings, anniversaries and especially freehand made croquenbouche, couronnes and cascades as can be seen in the above photos.

These are all made by our 'on the premises' chefs for complete personalisation to our customers needs providing quality, freshness and flexibility.

We are fully licesnsed and this is an ideal recent addition to our extensive cafe menu, in particular our home made soups. New England seafood chowder or potage bonne femme are favourites and plat du jour menue.g. Venetian chick salad plate or our hot tartiflette. This allows us to offer both variety and freshness.

Catering is also available...whether it be a simple office meeting with sandwiches and rolls or a more extensive buffet from canapes, petits fours to sides of poached dressed salmon and salads.

Delivery is available for cakes and catering.

REPLY TO JOHN S

16 Apr 09, 14:22 5 Beyond expectations

I am sorry that your visit to Nice Croissant was not to your expectations and please accept our apologies if this had been the case.

Children are in fact welcome and baby buggies are definitely allowed on the premises, especially since we offer the use of bicycle locks for empty buggies to be safely locked up outside at busy times....and I stress empty. We have a brief notice on the front door emphasing this consideration for both parents and cyclists.

If you would allow me the opportunity to invite you back and perhaps provide you with a more positive experience,, please contact ...the owner.... at the following email address: nicecroissant@yahoo.com

I look forward to hearing from you

ALWAYS A GOOD EXPERIENCE

29 Mar 09, 07:11 5 Beyond expectations

I HAVE JUST HAD MY 3RD CHILD AND HAVE BEEN GOING HERE FOR SOME TIME. I DISAGREE WITH THE REVIEWER ABOUT BABY BUGGIES AS YOU CAN IMAGINE HOW MUCH I HAVE TO TAKE DAILY. WE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN WELCOME AND THE BUGGY HAS BEEN ALLOWED INSIDE. SOMETIMES, IT CAN BE TRICKY COS THE PLACE IS OFTEN BUSY. THEY DO THEIR BEST TO HELP US.

STAFF ARE ALWAYS PLEASANT AND SO IS THE OWNER.

WE LOVE THE HUGE CHOICE OF FOOD AND THE FRESH SOUPS ARE HOMEMADE AND SOME OF THE BEST. THE NEW ENGLAND SEAFOOD CHOWDER IS A FAVOURITE.

FRESHNESS IS OBVIOUS HERE......IT DOESN'T COME TO YOUR TABLE AS A PREFILLED, ZEBRA STRIPED SANDWICH THAT HAS BEEN REHEATED, AS OFTEN HAPPENS IN OTHER PLACES.

P.S. THE BIRTHDAY CAKES ARE AMAZING!!!!!

Croquembouche cradle made for me

26 Feb 09, 13:35 5 Beyond expectations

I was looking for a patissier to make croquembouche in the shape of a cradle for my daughter's christening. I found Nice Croissant and hoped for the best but they delivered beyond my expectation. It was even better that I had imagined. It was beautiful and all my guests were so impressed with it.... Thanks NICE CROISSANT for making my day and providing us with a beautiful cake at a very descent cost. Will use them no doubt for my future occasions

the owner is rude

03 Jan 09, 19:18 1 Well below expectations

Slow service, crap coffee and the French sticks are nice, some of the staff are polite but kids are not welcomed. Buggies are not allowed inside the owner tells you off if they make noise - thats what kids do!

French patisserie

16 Jul 08, 12:05 5 Beyond expectations

Mouthwatering French patisserie, freshly made baguettes, home made soup, salads, croissants.

The interior is light and bright with large windows and sunny yellow paint. Service is fairly quick, staff are polite. Toilets are very small, but clean. There are tables outside where you can watch the world go by, and the place is very popular.
