Beyond expectations
I held my leaving doo (Retirement) in the "Clyde" on Friday 1st August 08. Michael and Lucy were extremely helpful in the organizing of this event, nothing was too much trouble for them to organize. The evening went very well and Lucy provided a top class buffet with all of the trimmings. The service from the bar staff, Martin, Mary, and Lee was of the highest standard. All in all the combination of staff and mine hosts worked towards a very enjoyable evening to be remembered for quite some time. My thanks to all at the Clyde, it was worth all of the effort. Beyond expectations
Nestled in an inaccessible alley off Southwark Street, 'The Clyde' is a hidden gem. A good old fashioned London Boozer, the Clyde's friendly staff serve all the usual booze to a variety of regulars, builders and local office workers. They also serve lovely homemade hot food - I had one of the best BLTs I have ever tasted there, as well as the occasional stew or casserole. The smoking ban seems to be confusing some of the old boys, but with a small outside seating area everyone should be happy.
