Great romantic setting

Regardless of the food the setting of the restuarant is amazing. Overlooking the southbank the views from the dining area are amazing. If you time it well and get there in the summer when the sun's setting you see the whole of London with red skies. But the great news is that the food is great too. The waiters are always good too. it is expensive but well worth it for a special treat.

Lovely food, lovely service, Ok view & Pricey

Went to OXO tower for dinner on my birthday. Felt a bit out of place cos it was a surprise, and I was wearing a bit too casual... but we were treated as if we were wearing a gown and a tux. (!!) View: We were sitting by the window, and people who'd been there have been saying how beautiful the view was, but all I can see were reflections... probably we went there at 8pm in Winter, so, we didnt get much of a view. Food: Starter: Braised Pork Belly, Apple Sauce. The most delicate-looking Pork Belly I have ever been served. It had the thinnest yet most crispy crackling, and with the combination of lean and fat, the meat is not dry at all, in fact, very juicy. Main Course: Roast Wild Sea Bass. I am not a big fan of fish, and the slightest smell of fishiness could put me off the whole meal, but I thought I should try it in OXO and I wasnt disappointed with the taste, at all! They must have pan fried the fish first, then roast it for several minutes... the skin was crispy and the fish itself was smooth and sweet. Probably my best fish-eating-experience. (However the portion is relatively small, probably a tiny bit bigger than my starter) Dessert: Vanilla brulee, apple three ways. It was very nice, not too sweet, I cant remember exactly what it tasted like, cos I was still very impressed with my starter and main. A Surprise: After we finished our dessert, the waiter brought out an ice-cream with a candle and happy birthday written in chocolate! I was very happy, but the ice-cream was disappointedly bland.... Service: 10 out of 10! Very friendly, helpful, professional. Aside from being a bit too pricey, certainly worth going!!! 8.5 out of 10 from me. My suggestion: Go during lunch or early evening, the view should be stunning as you can see the Thames, St Pauls etc..
