Terrible meal.

Well below expectations
For the second time I have had a poor experience at the Siam Orchid. Chaotic service (partly due to the restaurant offering a takeaway service which seems to take priority) and long waits, expensive wine (£18 for a cheapo Pinot Grigio) and a terrible starter (6 overcooked mussels and 2 prawns) followed by a seafood curry with inedible octopus and one raw scallop plus some bits of crab that I would have confined to the stock pot. Small portions, expensive, bad service.

Beyond expectations
Siam Orchid offers the best Thai on Carshalton's High Street - a small intimate restaurant with good lighting and great ambiance, Killer food and a super accommodating staff - this makes for a great date place. This is a family run business whom even offer Cooking Classes at £20 a head - (during off peak hours) provided you can guarantee the turn-out.... Check it out its FANTASTIC!
