something's missing

I lived in London Fields in 2000 way before its gentrification. This pub was a regular haunt.
This pub has been here for years and used to served the best bangers and mash ever. They also had a squazillion belgian beers in a bottle a good few on tap.
I went a few months back and it's been extended and has lost some of its charm. The food'and beer more expensive than it should be but it is still very tasty.
A good option on a Sunday if you're in this neck of the woods

I like your old stuff better than your new stuff

I went here a few years earlier with a Belgian friend of mine and although the pub was quite nice with a good selection of Belgian beers, the cooking paled in comparison to proper Belgian food. They even used - shock! - English mayonaise for the chips.
I returned recently and was even less impressed. I wasn't bothered so much by the clientele (more Hackney Hipsters than you can shake a stick at) but the fact that the food was rubbish, service even worse and they have combined the male and female loos in some horrible haphazard way.
I'd go there for a drink but I think there are far better places nearby to eat.

Not really Belgian

The owners of this pub don't seem to actually be Belgian, and this shows in the quality and care taken in their food.
Thin gravy, too-fatty meat, and too noisy to enjoy a nice meal. Luckily the meal isn't so nice anyway.

Belgian beers on Broadway Market

Famed for its extensive menu of Belgian beers and exotic sausages served with mash, this dark, cosy pub has plenty of fairy-lit nooks and crannies to hide away in with the object of your affections. Food, though good, is slightly overpriced, and the place is usually rammed with Hackney hipsters, but it’s a very pretty pub to spend time in after a walk along Regent’s Canal.

Really nice cosy pub. Very romantic serving Belgian beers and food. A little expensive at £20.00 a head.
