Does exactly what it says on the tin

As mentioned, this cinema is a little strangely located, and if you're not a local, would probably be quite a trek / difficult to get to.

That said, it has numerous screens and is always showing a good selection of films.

If you're a bit of a movie buff, I'd recommend getting an unlimited card, which only takes 2 trips to pay for itself and more and gives you access to see any film any time you want.

Best time to go is Sunday evening - not too busy, but great for winding down after a big weekend.

This cinema is a big multi-plex out by Canary Wharf but it's probably not somewhere you'd go unless you lived very close or had a car.

It's a typical multiplex showing all the latest American releases and it's cheaper than going somewhere in the west end.

Hidden away, but still good

Tucked out of the way and a good half hour journey, this is the closest Cineworld cinema we could find that wasn't included as a West End establishment.

The prices here seem normal, although I own a Cineworld pass so I didn't look too closely. The snacks are as expensive as you'd expect for a cinema in London, but there is a nice little bar located on one of the middle floors where you can relax for a bit before or after seeing a film.

In spite of the remote location, it's a good cinema.

Exactly as you expect

12 Jul 07, 14:05 3* As expected

It's a biggish cinema out near Canary Wharf that shows all the currently released 'big' films, so it's pretty much exactly as you expect it to be.

The screens are large and the cinemas are cool and the seats comfy.

Food and drink is expensive as expected (again) and the interior is pretty 'cineworld' standard.

As a note this is the closest cinema to the city that allows the usage of the 'unlimited' cineworld passes. Prices when paying are again a lot less than the city.

Not bad.

There's better and there's worse

01 Jul 07, 15:51 2* Below expectations

A good cinema with 10 screens, a lineup of films which doesn't stretch any boundaries (typically limited to those big names on general release), and a bar for pre/post film drinks. Being my local cinema, I find it convienient, but it does have a few negative points.

The MAJOR annoyance I find is the local teens that tend to watch films here. They just dont know how to keep their mouths closed or phones turned off, and its on more than one occasion ruined a film. As KevinD also says, they're always trying to get in for free. Seats and footwells are generally clean, but seating could be a tad more comfortable. Its acceptible for a typical hour and a halfs showing, but longer films tend to see you shifting in your seat far too much. A multi-story car park lies next door, and the DLR stops at West India Quay which is 5 minutes walk away.

A good cinema, but a bit obscurely located

08 May 07, 08:59 2* Below expectations

The Cineworld at West India Quay is yet another decent London cinema. With a decent film lineup, a nice friendly bar where you can buy overpriced lager before going to see a film, it has some great features. At the same time however, this is also one of the more obscurely located cinemas I know of. Situated at West India Quay away from the hustle of Canary Wharf, it never really feels like somewhere comfortable and for some reason I've seen more violent encounters and kids trying to get in for free, than any other cinema in London. There are some major flaws with this place, which is a shame because it has an okay layout and selection of films. Never mind.
