The upmarket supermarket

Beyond expectations
This supermarket is mindblowing. We're talking in-house steak and oyster bars. A cosy corner where you can stop and sup a glass of champagne. A John Lewis kitchenware department in the middle of the shop, stocking ceramics from Nigella Lawson, pans from Le Creuset, and more. There's even a sushi restaurant, complete with ferocious-looking sushi chefs in big white hats. And then there's the food. In addition to the usual Waitrose posh supermarket type contents the store stocks more obscure items from tofu, miso and mirin to flax seeds and yogi tea. Customer service is good - at Christmas when the queues were long they were handing out free sweeties to keep everyone in a good mood. Also not as expensive as a quick glance at the store's luxury architecture may suggest - prices are similar to Sainsbury's or M&S.
