Yard

28 May 08, 20:29 3* As expected

The best yard by a country mile The huge courtyard is the reason for coming here. At weekends it's rammed and there's an okay BBQ. The interior is looking a bit tired and can get a bit skanky now and again.

But it does have a great atmosphere and is a great place to meet before heading to 93ft east. Also there are loads of tables so chances are you won't need to wait long to get one so long as you get here early(ish).

one of those places i always ended up at and always had a great time in, even though i might have groaned a bit when i realised i was going there. weird how your perception doesnt always match up to your experience isnt it?

Not bad

14 Apr 08, 15:43 3* As expected

Located in the old Truman Brewery in a small courtyard on Brick Lane. The staff are friendly and enthusiastic about the music and keen to tell you about forthcoming events. Maby music it's too loud, yes, it can annoy. The Vibe Bar prices are cheap at less than £3 a pint (not on the weekend!)

Great summer bar

21 Oct 07, 10:58 4* Above expectations

Seconding what Debby said, this place works best in summer. You can sit outside, under the trees in the courtyard of the Truman Brewery, drinking beer and contemplating what to order from the on-site barbeque. Send someone with long limbs and a loud voice to the bar - for some reason it is inordinately deep. Inside there are slouchy sofas, but these are snapped up quickly. Unfortunately, this is a bar that subscribes to the "toilet attendant" trend - in the ladies, she likes to cover up the hand drier with her jacket, which is very annoying.

Not my vibe

10 Oct 07, 16:00 2* Below expectations

I've always found this place a bit loud, crowded and unpleasant to be honest.

It's not a bad place for a drink with friends, but if the weather isn't courtyard friendly it can get a bit too rammed in a way that makes me feel old and grumpy rather than young and up for a party. Plenty of more charming drinking holes around here if you know where to look.

Vibe Bar

17 May 07, 16:10 4* Above expectations

Great bar for the summer as there is a large open courtyard at the front with loads of tables. Aptly named as there is always a good atmosphere here.
