I really like it

Above expectations
Just read the above review and was very surprised. We had a great night here. The waiters are the same as they are all over Brick Lane. Effeicient and to the point. The food was good.. and decor is comfortable enough to make you relax. I recommend this place.

Horrible Disapointing Experience at Chutneys Brick Lane

Well below expectations
My husband and I had been on a Jack the Ripper tour and asked the lovely tour guide to recommend a restaurant, she said Chutneys, she always eats there. We went there full of excitement ( my husband's brother who works nearby had advised us to avoid Brick Lane as he said the touts were bad news, but we do our own thing ) and what a let down. The waiter stared at us in total hostile hatred, and slammed the drinks down so hard they spilled up over the edge of the glasses and onto the tablecloth. The food was similarly served. We barely ate half, we were so furious and offended. What a waste of time, and I hope to God there are some good curry houses on the street. The only identifiable thing I noticed about this waiter was he had chipped red paint or nail polish on his fingernails. Tell you what, we'll never be near Brick Lane again. An absolutely unacceptable, disgraceful expreience.
