Nice Day Out for the Kids

Above expectations
Windmills are an example of life in days gone by and this small grain mill in Wimbledon will be a source of delight and interest to any children you take along...it has not worked since 1864 when it was closed down and made into accomodation but there are still parts of it that have been preserved to show how it was back in it's working period. There is information on how this mill used to work and how it varied with other types elsewhere in the UK. There is a cafe right next to the Windmill which is a profound favourite of mine, it serves home made dishes from breakfasts to pasta bakes, as well as a great selection of cakes and pies. There is seating outside and inside, it is a great family venue at all times of year and gets particularly busy at weekends. Then you can go for a ramble on beautiful Wimbledon Common.
