Not just a girl's shop

23 Nov 07, 10:06 5 Beyond expectations

The first thing that strikes you upon entering the shop is Elaine's warm welcome. Always friendly and ever helpful. Being a typically crap bloke, she is always prepared to help me out when choosing the right gift.

As well as that, I've managed to buy nice photo frames, gifts for babies, cool books that I haven't seen in other bookshops and a mini table tennis set for the child in me.

Recommended.

The Cats Pyjamas Of Marylebone says:

Definitely not just a girl's shop. It has really affordable retro toy kits from rocket to old-fashioned jet fighters and books you tend to only find in New York.

My Favourite Shop in London

23 Nov 07, 08:12 5 Beyond expectations

This has to be one of the most wonderful shops you can visit. Whatever the occasion you will find a gift here or if you just want to treat yourself this is the place to come to! I love the unusual jewellery, the fabulous candles, the quirky books, and the marvellous frames. In fact I love it all! The service is wonderful - not only does Elaine help you choose the perfect gift she wraps it beautifully too! A visit to this shop always makes me smile and is worth its weight in gold!

A treasure trove

22 Nov 07, 17:18 5 Beyond expectations

After a long meeting on Edgware Rd, I decided to cut through York St to get to Baker St station when I stumbled upon the dearest little shop in this part of Marylebone. Tucked away behind all the traffic and office blocks, there before me was the cats pyjamas. I decided to have a look and ended up buying most of my stocking fillers for friends and family in there. The shop assistant without even asking wrapped all my bits and even labelled them with key codes so I know what is what! My daughter will love her new felt purse and numerous charms for her bracelet. My son will no doubt have plenty of fun with the rocket kit I bought him. And I will wear my lovely new necklace this weekend.

Wonderful, quirky gift shop

A real find. Go to Marylebone Station. Cross the Marylebone Road. Walk down Enford Street into York Street. Discover The Cat's Pyjamas of Marylebone and a whole lot of lovely, interesting gifts - jewellery, clocks, bags, toiletries, candles, cards, cuddly monkeys, ducks, picture frames, you name it. Groovy pub across the road too - The Temperance - does great food. Oh, and a great little fishing shop next door - Hughie O'Reilly's Sharpes of Aberdeen place.
