Afternoon Tea in London
02 May 08, 13:07
Above expectations
This is the place to go for a real old fashioned style afternoon tea. On entering the hotel you are greeted by Reception staff who then personally escort you to the dining room.
The Dining Room is extremely elegant and beautifully laid out with comfortable armchairs and sofas and even a pianist. The service is impeccable with a huge selection of special teas which are then served in an individual glass teapot - and your tea-cup is continually replenished. The sandwiches are minute but quite filling, followed by warm scones, jam and cream and then a selection of cream cakes.
The clientel is mixed - just wish I had been able to have a carried a couple of Cartier bags to match the couple on the next table!
