Great Food on the Marie Celeste

We went here for Saturday lunch. It was 1.30pm, only a fw moutes walk away ppl were queing for tables in Carluccio's and even at Pizza Express. We were the only customers at Levant and had to seek someone out to serve us, it was like the Marie Celeste. Not a good sign. Food was delicious tho. the falafel and hummus were among the best I've ever tasted and the moussakka was full of delicate flavours. It's not cheap - £12.95 set menu for lunch. And they'll sting you on drinks. But it's mazing food and an oasis of calm amidst the bustle of west London.
Really lovely

This is a really lovely place and quite a find. If you go at the right time you might be able to enjoy the belly dancers giving it some around your table, which i have to say my boyfriend enjoyed more than me. The food is quite amazing, with an extensive menu to chose from.

What a treat

This is my birthday meeting place, its my little hidden secret that I only introduce my favourite friends too. The ambience is lush and so is the food, depending on where you normally eat you may find it a little expensive, but they certainly dish out the portions. If you have skinny friends then share one dish between three of you as there is loads. I always enjoy place and fully recommend.

Like finding Aladdin's Cave

Beyond expectations
You won't find this place unless you're looking for it, located down a little alley off Wigmore Street, a hair's breadth from the London Institute of Trycology(!). The ornate entrance is set into the side of a large office block, and there is an immediate sense of enchantment as you desend two flights of stairs into a fragrant, candlelit boudoir. The decor was excellent, from beaded metal lampshades to rose petals at the place settings. And the menu was just as traditional, offering a number of different "feasts" that are to be shared by at least two people. We had all opted for the meat feast, which at 35 GBP a head was the most modest option (along with the vegetable feast), but you really get what you pay for. First we were presented with something like a dozen different mezes, which would have actually been enough on its own! If I have one negative thing to say about Levant it would be that the portions are possibly too large, but they were happy to doggy-bag most of the main, three beautiful chargrilled kebabs on a bed of perfectly-cooked rice and vegetables, and it still tasted great the next day. But remarkabley the food wasn't the highlight of the night... When we were all stuffed with meat and woozy on delicious lebanese wine (perfect temperature), the music quickened and out wiggled the belly dancers! Clearly experts at their trade, the two sparkley concubines encourged the shy to get up an join them, while extracting generous tips from the keener men. Apparently you can book a private belly dancer to entertain your table for the whole night, but I think that would deprive the food of its due attention. All in all a magical experience.
