Great For Leaving do's & Surprise Guests!

23 May 08, 14:18 5* Beyond expectations

We had a leaving do for my mate before we went travelling, there were like 30 of us (very hard to please media types) and this place was 'beyond expectations'

Funny doesnt even begin to describe the howls of laughter the night had in store!

We had great seats arrive EARLY - or you wont get a good seat - it gets very busy!!

Couldnt beleive the line up FIVE great acts - including 2 unpromoted --- JACK DEE and JO BRAND!!! It was soooo awesome for them to still go back to their roots to the fab small venue!

Get ur tickets in advance! Always v popular and busy..

Tickets werent to expensive considering the FANTASTIC night and cheapo drinks (ie not gonna rip you off soho prices - refreshing!!)

10 points (but you can only give 5 on here!!)

One of the greatest...

This is a renowned comedy venue for big names in the business. Portraits of famous faces line the walls by the bar. After a long gap I visited again recently and was not disappointed, all the comics were good which is a hard thing to achieve with in any line-up. It is a huge place, with benches to the side (where we sat), and chairs at round tables on the main floor. The drinks are reasonably priced, you can get lager by the jug which is really handy for grabbing rounds in the breaks.

The oldest and the best

What a place - OK you need to steer clear of the late show if you don't want drunkend hecklers going over the top, bu I have never had a bad night here. Saw Harry Hill about ten years ago here and nearly died laughing.

Had many an hilarious night here. It's the first and best comedy store. They often gets some big name standup acts and almost more fun some unknowns who then go on to be famous and you can say "oh I saw them at the comedy store in 2008 when noone knew who they were." Whatever you do - do not sit on the front row!

Comedy Genius

Brilliant. The cream of comedy talent perform here and you can be guarentee that you will laugh as only the best get to perform on this stage.

If you're used to the usual stand up, then you can check out the improvisation nights which are far more fascinating and funnier knowing that you're watching an organic comedy experience.

Drinks are reasonable (remember you're in the centre of london) and the seats are comfy enough. Just don't ever (And I do mean ever) go to the toilet during an act... they will slaughter you and your friends as well.

Never laughed so much!

29 Apr 08, 22:18 5* Beyond expectations

We went here for a friends birthday recently and had THE most fun night - some of the comedians are big names, some are just working the circuits and building a reputation, but every act here will get a laugh. Go along on one of the improvisation-based nights and you'll be laughing for hours afterwards... Price-wise considering what it is and where it is, I think it's perfectly reasonable, and the drinks were cheap when compared with the other nearby establishments!

Highly recommended

This is one of the best comedy nights i have had out. The tickets tend to sell out fast so i suggest you buy them in advance. Its a lovely atmosphere inside, food and drinks are also avaliable to dine in so you can have a meal and a laugh at a very reasonable price. Also if your out and about in leicester square you could pick up a comedy flyer and get in for half price!

So funny it hurts

10 Jul 07, 13:37 4* Above expectations

Having only ever seen live comedy in huge theatres I didn't know what to expect at the Comedy Store. I had a great time, I laughed so much my face ached! I went to the Tuesday night Cutting Edge show which relies on audience suggestions to get them started. It is a loose competition between the 6 comedians with songs and plenty of interaction with the audience. It's quite a small and dark place which gives it great atmosphere, just don't sit on the front row unless you really want to participate! Along with the bar they also serve a good selection of food which you can take to your seat in the audience. The average plate it about £6. The Comedy Store is a great night out, guaranteed to make you laugh.

Good Times

06 Jul 07, 17:01 5* Beyond expectations

Great times to be had here!! Many of the big names in comedy started here so it has some good heritage! The bar is huge and fairly cheap for the area it is in! Good web site goes along with it so very easy to find uot whats going on! Finishes at 11 so its easy to get a train home if you live out side London! All round a good fun night to be had!
