Beyond expectations
I've eaten at Pied à Terre and I can unreservedly say that it is one of the most fabulous restaurants I've been to. Intimate and decadent without being stuffy or pretentious, the food is some of the best I've had.I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this as one of my favourite restaurants of all time.

Serious Food

This rather small, narrow dining room has for a long time served some of the best food in London. Currently at the stoves is Shane Osborne, who has retained the 2 Michelin stars that it earned under previous chef Tom Aikens. This makes it one of the best five restaurants in London according to Michelin. Service under David Moore is as smooth as one could hope for.

Best food I've ever eaten

I'm not exactly a food critic, but the food here is amazing...
It's not cheap (£50 for 2 courses) and the restaurant itself isn't so great - tables too close, kind of almost underground (no natural light), too much attention from the waiters, napkin folding people etc...
However, if you can put up with those flaws... you're a lucky person if you've ever tasted nicer food. It's absolutely lush. And the wine list is excellent too - go for the 1996 Leoville Barton (£180 not cheap) and get it decanted for at least 20 mins, I love that wine.
p.s. for fun (or if you're really, really rather drunk) keep going to the loo every 5 mins and get your mate / partner to time the staff with a stop watch on how long it takes before someone comes over and folds your napkin. When the task is complete shout the time out and tut loudly if it's over 10 seconds. I did that once and thought it was absolutely hilarious. The waiters didn't. Hey ho. I just hate the way fancy restaurants think you want to be pestered - give me the grub and wine and leave in peace...
