Communal Tables????

The food is good quality for the price so it does seem. However, I still couldn’t be persuaded by the communal tables (only choice in this restaurant), especially when you’re placed next to a large group having a party. I prefer to have my table in a restaurant without sharing my dinner with unknown people.

Chowki just by Piccadilly Circus-an easy to get to place serves some really fantastic food based on all the different regions of India. The prices are very reasonable despite being in Central London. The reason why I like this place is because the menu changes regularly and if you go there be prepared for surprises e.g. in one visit you may get to eat Hyderbadi dishes, the next time you may get to eat Mangalor dishes. It is advisable to call ask what regional cuisine they are serving-and pop in if it is something you are partial to.

Fantastic place! I had chicken curry, with rice and nan, it has got to be one of my best experiences i've had. Great idea how u get to taste India by region.. very different.. For around 13 pounds u can get to choose 3 dishs as your meal! No problem with the service. Cocktails also availiable, highly recommended!
Unique, modern Indian.

This has been my favourite Indian for a very long time. It is laid out in a modern/industrial canteen style, which is fairly unique for an Indian, and the way in which you choose your meal is funky too, in that you select your starter, main, and desert by 'region'. The menu also rotates every month.
Meals come arranges as a thali, but instead of the dented, slightly manky metal platters you sometimes get when you order a thali, this comes as individual leaf-shape ceramic dishes arranged in a semi-circle above the main dish. Little details, but nice.
The food is extremely good in my opinion. However, I took a group of lads there a few months ago which included three Indian guys who were not at all impressed! I guess it isn't genuine after all, but is still better than anything else I have had in London.
